UC RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, was established in March 2007 following the merger of assets of three companies: RUSAL, previously the third largest global aluminium company; SUAL, one of the world’s top ten players in the aluminium business; and the alumina assets of Glencore (Switzerland).

UC RUSAL's assets include bauxite and nepheline ore mines, alumina refineries, aluminium smelters, casthouse business for alloys production, aluminium foil mills and production of aluminium packaging materials as well as power-generating assets. Spread across 19 countries in 5 continents, the operations and offices of UC RUSAL employ over 75,000 people.

Many of our activities are aimed at continuing the development and growth of our company as a global corporation and the leader in the world’s aluminium industry.

While building our R&D potential and investing in the creation of new environmentally-friendly and power-saving technologies, our company continues to increase its production output through modernisation projects at our existing production sites and construction of new plants, which will meet the highest international HSE standards.

Strategically, UC RUSAL, both an energy and metals company, has further plans for growth by utilising its access to power resources, exceptional in-house research and development capabilities and the expertise of its highly-qualified personnel.
