After the financial tsunami, economies in Europe and the US have become more volatile and the world balance of economic power has been evolving constantly. The BRICS countries and the Asia Pacific Region have emerged as the new drivers for economic development, and the increasing trading activities in these emerging markets are set to drive the local demand for financial products and financing activities. Investors are well-advised to seize the investment opportunities related to the “BRICS” concept.
UC RUSAL jointly with the Hong Kong Economic Journal have invited financial experts from Russia, the United States and Hong Kong to discuss this new global investment focus and the challenges and opportunities in Mainland China and Hong Kong under the current unstable global economic environment.

Oleg Mukhadmedshin

Oleg Mukhamedshin was appointed RUSAL’s Head of Equity and Corporate Development in July 2011. Prior to his current position, he was RUSAL’s Director for Capital Markets. He is responsible for raising funds in equity capital markets, the use of financial derivatives, communications with investors, stock exchanges and capital market regulators. He is also responsible for RUSAL’s development projects including organic growth projects. Mr Mukhamedshin currently oversees work on RUSAL’s debt restructuring.
He led the projects of restructuring RUSAL’s USD 16.6 billion debt and RUSAL’s IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Paris’ Euronext in 2010. Under his leadership, RUSAL become the first company to launch a Russian Depository Receipts programme.
