Achinsk Alumina Refinery

Achinsk refinery is Russia’s largest producer of alumina. The facility operates using a unique cutting-edge technology developed by the Russian National Aluminium-Magnesium Institute (part of RUSAL).

Production technology

Ore is mixed with lime and sintered. The resulting sinter is then subjected to hydrochemical treatment.



RUSAL is currently exploring the deep layers of the Mazoul limestone deposit and the Kiya-Shaltyr nepheline mine
