RUSAL is improving production processes and finished product quality control systems using advanced technologies and control methods.
Developments are underway in the following areas:
- automation of surface quality control systems for small ingots using video systems, the possibility of eliminating the human factor during product acceptance, 100% surface quality control, integration with the casting line's ingot rejection system;
- geometric dimension control systems for slabs and billets with automatic registration of product parameters and surface quality control;
- creating and supporting the automation of methods for quantitative analysis of product macro- and microstructure quality;
- implementing automated metal purity assessment methods;
- MES of casting production with a single database of regulatory and reference information, including technological and regulatory documentation on production;
- creating virtual casting machine simulators with the ability to train personnel.
