UC RUSAL launches new potrooms at Irkutsk Aluminium Smelter
Moscow, 6 February 2008 - UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, is pleased to announce the launch of two new potrooms at the Irkutsk Aluminium Smelter (IrkAZ). The new production facilities will boost annual aluminium production capacity by more than 55% to 460,000 tonnes, with total investment in the project exceeding USD 600 million.

Tatyana Soina is to replace Vladislav Soloviev who has been appointed CEO of Basic Element’s EN+, a holding company combining energy, coal, oil, metals and mining assets.

Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service approves UC RUSAL’s acquisition of a 25% plus one share stake in Norilsk Nickel from ONEXIM Group
Moscow, 31 January 2008 – UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, today welcomed the decision by Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to grant clearance for UC RUSAL to acquire a 25% plus one share interest in MMC Norilsk Nickel from ONEXIM Group.

UC RUSAL and UNDP Armenia announce ‘10 Best School Projects’ competition winners
Yerevan, 30th January 2008 – UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, has today announced the winners of the ‘10 Best School Projects’ competition implemented in Armenia in partnership with UNDP Global Compact. For the first time in Armenia, schoolchildren from twelve educational institutions will receive grants of 1 million drams each to implement socially beneficial projects.
