UC RUSAL launches construction of Taishet Aluminium Smelter in Irkutsk region
Moscow, 25 June 2007 – United Company RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alloys, today announces the start of construction of the Taishet aluminium smelter in the Irkutsk region. The smelter’s annual capacity will total 750,000 tonnes of aluminium. The projected volume of investments into construction of the facility is approximately USD 2 bln.

Moscow, 7 June 2007 – United Company RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, has appointed Alexander Kotyuk as General Director of Zaporozhye Aluminium and Alumina Complex. Prior to this, Alexander Kotyuk held the position of Commercial Director at the complex.

UC RUSAL statement regarding the situation in Nigeria
Moscow, 3 June 2007 - This morning in Nigeria, in the southern part of Ikot Abasi town a group of militants attacked a residential community of UC RUSAL's employees. 6 people have been kidnapped. The driver, who worked for ALSCON, was shot dead. The United Company is undertaking all possible measures to resolve the situation and free the hostages.

UC RUSAL continues installation of alumina point feeders at Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter
Moscow, 30 May 2007 – United Company RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, has completed the installation of alumina point-feeders in another potroom of the Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter.  The project is a part of an extensive environmental modernisation programme, driving the total number of potrooms with the alumina point feeding system up to 18.

United Company RUSAL begins construction of Eurasia’s largest bauxite and alumina complex
Moscow, 21 May 2007 – United Company RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, today announced completion of a state Feasibility Study appraisal for the construction of Komi Aluminium Bauxite and Alumina Complex in the Komi Republic. Investments into the project will exceed US $1.5 billion.
