UC RUSAL launches full capacity of Khakas Aluminium Smelter ahead of schedule
Moscow, 29 October 2007 – UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, announces today that the Khakas Aluminium Smelter has reached full capacity ahead of schedule, now as the fourth and final complex has been put into operation.  The smelter has a production capacity of 300,000 tonnes per annum.  Total investment in the project amounts to over USD 750 million.

UC RUSAL signs an investment agreement with Saratov region administration to build а major energy & metals complex
Saratov, 9 October 2007 - UC RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, is pleased to announce the signing of a cooperation agreement with the government of Russia’s Saratov region for the construction of a major energy and metals complex. The complex will include a significant expansion of the Balakovsky nuclear power plant, with UC RUSAL building the 5th and 6th reactor blocks, generating 2,000 MW and the construction of the world's largest aluminium smelter, with an annual production capacity of 1,05 million tonnes.
