Rusal announces new appointment

The new position is introduced as part of the programme aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the company’s business.  In RUSAL Mr. Sinshinov will oversee the general expenditure cutting and production cost reduction activities. His responsibilities will also include seeking effective alternative solutions to the current procurement and purchasing schemes and optimising transportation and logistics costs.

Biography

From October 2006 until joining RUSAL Pyotr Sinshinov was the CEO of Transmash Holding. In 2004-2006 he held several executive positions at Kuzbassrazrezugol where he served on the board of directors starting from the beginning of 2006. From 2002 to 2003 Mr. Sinshinov was the CEO of Ruspromavto. In 2000-2001, he was the CEO of of Soyuzmetalresurs, a holding company for several industrial operations. From 1995 to 2000 Pyotr Sinshinov was the commercial director and deputy managing director of the Sayanogorsk aluminium smelter. In 1977 he began his professional career at the Norilsk mining plant. Born in 1952 in Norilsk, Mr. Sinshinov graduated from the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals in Krasnoyarsk in 1977.
