RUSAL announces staff reshuffling in Aluminium division
Moscow, 12 January 2016 – UC RUSAL (SEHK: 486; Euronext: RUSAL/RUAL; Moscow Exchange: RUAL/RUALR), a leading global aluminium producer, announces a number of senior staff appointments within the Company’s Aluminium Division.
Evgeny Popov has been appointed as Managing Director of Sayanogorsk Aluminium Smelter (SAZ). Prior to the appointment, Mr Popov worked as Director of Production Department of the Aluminium Division.
Evgeny Kuriyanov has been appointed as Managing Director of Irkutsk Aluminium Smelter (IrkAZ). Prior to the appointment, Mr Kuriyanov worked as Director for Reduction Process at Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter (KrAZ).
In their new roles, Evgeny Popov and Evgeny Kuriyanov’s responsibilities will include expanding the range of value-added products (VAP), improving these products’ quality, continuing the RUSAL Business system’s further development, as well as implementing the technologies to minimise the production impact on the environment.

In addition, Anton Savchenko, who previously worked as Managing Director of SAZ, joins RUSAL’s Government Relations team. Vladimir Berstenev, who formerly worked as Managing Director of IrkAZ, will keep on working for the Division as the Adviser to the Director.
These staff changes took place as part of RUSAL plants’ management reshuffle programme and are designed to enforce best practice and ensure the successful implementation of corporate projects.
Biographies
Evgeny Popov graduated from both Irkutsk State University in 1994, and Irkutsk State Technical University in 2000, where he specialized in Nonferrous Metallurgy. Mr Popov holds an MBA degree from the Moscow State University, obtained in 2011. From 1994 - 2006 he worked at Bratsk Aluminium Smelter (BrAZ) where he progressed from Anode Operator to Manager. After this, he worked at Novokuznetsk Aluminium Smelter (NkAZ) as Deputy Director for Production Process Management and Production System Development, Reduction Directorate. In 2010 he started as Head of Unit for Reduction Process and Anode Paste, Aluminium Division East, and in 2011 was appointed Director of Production Department of Aluminium Division.
In 2004, Evgeny Kuriyanov graduated from Irkutsk State Technical University where he specialized in Nonferrous Metallurgy. In 2011 he obtained his MBA degree from the Moscow State University. Starting his career in 2001 Mr Kuriyanov worked at BrAZ as molten salts’ pot operator. Between 2004 - 2010 he worked at Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter (KrAZ) in various positions ranging from pot operator to potline senior manager at potrooms. Since June 2010, he has worked as Director for Reduction Process at Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter (KrAZ).
