RUSAL is recognized as global leader by Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)

Moscow, February 6, 2020 – RUSAL (Hong Kong Stock Exchange code 486, Moscow Exchange code RUAL), one of the world’s major producers of aluminium, has been identified as a global leader for engaging with its suppliers on climate change by the Carbon Disclosure Project’s (CDP) Supplier Engagement Leaderboard.

The high CDP rating is further evidence of RUSAL’s successful efforts to reduce emissions, manage climate risks and ensure transparent communications in this area.

CDP assessed companies that are actively involved in working with their suppliers to reduce their impact on the environment. Of the 4,800 companies that were assessed, RUSAL was amongst the 160 corporations on the leaderboard this year and the first aluminium company in the world to get such a high rating.

“RUSAL has been consistent in efforts to execute its long-term strategy in addressing the issues of climate change. As a result, the carbon footprint of our products is one of the lowest in the world”, said RUSAL’s CEO Evgenii Nikitin. “We are honored that these achievements are acknowledged on an international level. When working with such a large number of suppliers of electricity, fuel, raw materials and others, RUSAL implements its own Business Partner Code and a list of requirements for the suppliers which include environmental and social risks related to the supply chain and quality standards which meets the best international practices”, he added.
