RUSAL’s CEO Oleg Deripaska provided the keynote speech on “Strategic development of Eastern Siberia and Far East and the potential integration with Pan-Asian markets”. He also attended the session titled “Conversations to Make a Difference”, which was held as a public interview and hosted by Chrystia Freeland, Editor of Thomson Reuters Digital. Oleg Deripaska’s speeches focused on the importance of change to the national monetary policy, the forced development of the Russian East and the importance of partnerships with Asia.
RUSAL's First Deputy CEO Vladislav Soloviev delivered a speech on “Resource security and meeting the needs of three billion new global consumers” which was initiated by the Company and shared his insights on the future of global metal demand. According to his speech, global metal consumption will be driven by Asian countries urbanisation, giving the Russian economy a unique opportunity to benefit from Asian demand.
Oleg Deripaska was interviewed by Russia-24, CCTV, Bloomberg, CNBC, Fifth Channel, REN-TV and RAIN TV channels, sharing his views on global economy. Vladislav Soloviev and RUSAL’s Deputy CEO Oleg Mukhamedshin spoke to Interfax and RIA Novosti news agencies, providing a complete picture of the Company's plans and aluminium industry.
During the Forum RUSAL signed an agreement with the Federal Grid Company of the United Energy System aimed at the efficient and mutually beneficial cooperation on power supply to key consumers. RUSAL's First Deputy CEO Vladislav Soloviev met with the China Eximbank representatives and He Guoqiang, a member of the Central Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China. The meeting was focused on the cooperation agreement on the $850 million investment project of the anode factory in Eastern Siberia, which was signed two days earlier in Moscow.
RUSAL also contributed to the Forum entertainment programme, leading to the development of an Aluminium Bar, which became the most popular location for informal meetings and was referred to as the SPEIF Best Bar by the Delovoe TV channel.
Commenting on the results of the Forum Oleg Deripaska said: “Such an event is an excellent tool to enhance a country's attractiveness in the eyes of investors, to develop national business and to discuss plans for economic growth. Due to the difficulties facing both the world and Russia’s economy, consistent and coordinated work is required from all of us”.
