UC RUSAL announces changes in its Packaging Division management
The appointment of Mr Borovik is in line with UC RUSAL’s management rotation programme, which is aimed at promoting best practices throughout all areas of the company. Mr. Borovik will be responsible for improving efficiency of productivity and management and promoting technological excellence, as well as for the introduction of industry best environmental and safety practices.
Georgy Avetikyan, who was previously the CEO of ARMENAL, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors at the plant.
Biography
Sergey Borovik was born in 1961 at Irkutsk. In 1983, Mr Borovik graduated from the Irkutsk State Polytechnic Institute majoring in Aviation Engineering. He started his career at the Irkutsk Aluminium Smelter as an industrial equipment repairs supervisor and became the head of the repair department in 1990. In 1998, Mr Borovik was appointed as a deputy to the CEO, taking responsibility for planning at the Irkutsk Aluminium Smelter. In 2000, he acted as CEO for the Mihalum company. Since 2004 Mr. Borovik was the Managing Director of UC RUSAL Ural Foil Mill.
