UC RUSAL and ANTAM sign memorandum of cooperation
Moscow, 6 September 2007 - UC RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, is pleased to announce the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with Indonesian state-owned company ANTAM to construct a bauxite and alumina complex in Western Kalimantan, Indonesia. The preliminary estimated production capacity of the complex will reach 3.6 million tones of bauxite and 1.2 million tones of alumina per annum.

UC RUSAL donates USD 1 mln to support employees and local communities after hurricane Dean in Jamaica
Moscow, 27 August 2007 - UC RUSAL donates USD 1 mln to assist the employees of Alpart and Windalco alumina refineries as well as the surrounding community institutions which suffered damage from Hurricane Dean. The funds will be used to assist employees who suffered substantial damage to their homes due to the passage for Hurricane Dean as well as to help in the restoration of key community based facilities.

UC RUSAL restarts Alpart and Windalco alumina refineries
Moscow, 22 August 2007 – UC RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, announces the restart of Alpart and Windalco alumina refineries which were suspended on August 18 ahead of Hurricane Dean. The facilities remain undamaged as a result of the efficient work carried out by the refineries’ technical services teams.

UC RUSAL Employees Released in Nigeria returned to Russia
Moscow, 10 August 2007 – UC RUSAL’s five employees and one employee’s relative, released in Nigeria, have come back to Russia. All of them are in good state of health. Within the week they will undertake a thorough medical examination.

UC RUSAL launches modernization of world’s largest aluminium smelter
Moscow, 9 August 2007 – UC RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, has announces the start of modernisation of Bratsk aluminium smelter, the world’s largest, to reduce environmental impact and increase efficiency. The first stage of the project will be completed in 2011, costing USD 350 million in investment.

UC RUSAL announces release of employees kidnapped in Nigeria
Moscow, 8 August 2007 - The six kidnapped Russian citizens, comprising five UC RUSAL employees and one employee's relative, were released today in Nigeria. They were taken hostage on June 3, 2007 in the company’s residential compound near the town of Ikot Abasi, Nigeria.

UC RUSAL opens Industrial Park Siberia branch in Komi Republic
Moscow, 16 July 2007 – UC RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, today announces the launch of a new branch of Industrial Park Siberia in the town of Ukhta. The new plant will supply metal structures for the ongoing construction of a bauxite and alumina complex within the Komi Aluminium project. The plant is expected to produce about 51,000 tonnes of products worth over USD 100 mln.
