UC RUSAL statement regarding the situation in Nigeria
Moscow, 3 June 2007 - This morning in Nigeria, in the southern part of Ikot Abasi town a group of militants attacked a residential community of UC RUSAL's employees. 6 people have been kidnapped. The driver, who worked for ALSCON, was shot dead. The United Company is undertaking all possible measures to resolve the situation and free the hostages.

UC RUSAL continues installation of alumina point feeders at Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter

The project is a part of an extensive environmental modernisation programme, driving the total number of potrooms with the alumina point feeding system up to 18.

United Company RUSAL begins construction of Eurasia’s largest bauxite and alumina complex
Moscow, 21 May 2007 – United Company RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and alumina, today announced completion of a state Feasibility Study appraisal for the construction of Komi Aluminium Bauxite and Alumina Complex in the Komi Republic. Investments into the project will exceed US $1.5 billion.

UC RUSAL and HYDROOGK begin construction of Boguchanskiy Aluminium Smelter
Moscow, 15 May 2007 – UC RUSAL, the world’s largest producer of aluminium and its alloys, and HydroOGK, Russia’s leader in the area of renewable energy, have begun construction of the Boguchanskiy Aluminium Smelter. The 600,000 tpa-strong smelter will be one of Russia’s five largest. Total investment in this project is expected to reach USD 2.3 bln.

Signing of agreement on complex development of lower Angara region
