UC RUSAL completes a part of ecological modernization project at Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter. Automatic alumina point-feeders installed
Moscow, 23 November 2007 - UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, is pleased to announce that Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter (KrAZ) has completed the installation of automatic alumina point-feeders. KrAZ is the first and the only aluminium smelter in Russia based on the slotted anode technology equipped with automatic point-feeders. The investments in this project amounted over USD 38 millions.

UC RUSAL completes USD 2.35 billion syndicated credit facility deal over-subscribed, pricing unaffected by credit crisis

UC RUSAL becomes first Russian company to complete monitoring and analysis of greenhouse gas emissions
Moscow, 15 November 2007 - UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, is pleased to report the completion of an ecological monitoring at the Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter (KrAZ). The research was conducted by Jerry Marks, a respected climate change researcher who is also a specialist consultant for the International Aluminium Institute. UC RUSAL is the first company in Russia to undertake monitoring and analysis of perfluorochemicals emissions (part of greenhouse gas emissions).

UC RUSAL completes large scale casthouse modernization programme at aluminium smelters
Moscow, 7 November 2007 – UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, is pleased to report the completion of a large scale casthouse modernization programme at four of its aluminium smelters: Sayanogorsk, Krasnoyarsk, Bratsk and Novokuznetsk. The investment in the project amounted to approximately USD 130 million. The value-added casthouse production has increased almost tenfold and today accounts for more than 50% of all aluminium production.

UC RUSAL launches full capacity of Khakas Aluminium Smelter ahead of schedule
Moscow, 29 October 2007 – UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, announces today that the Khakas Aluminium Smelter has reached full capacity ahead of schedule, now as the fourth and final complex has been put into operation. The smelter has a production capacity of 300,000 tonnes per annum. Total investment in the project amounts to over USD 750 million.
