UC RUSAL and Samruk Holding to establish a joint venture to develop coal and energy industries in Kazakhstan

UC RUSAL to construct packaging foil plant in the Moscow region
Moscow, 28 November 2007 - UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, is pleased to announce plans to construct a packaging foil plant near the city of Dmitrov in the Moscow region.  The project investment will amount to approximately USD 20 million. The plant will have an overall capacity of 20,000 tonnes of packaging foil per year and will increase UC RUSAL’s share of the Russian foil and foil-based packaging market by up to 66%.

UC RUSAL and ONEXIM Group aim to create Russian diversified global mining leader
Moscow, 23 November 2007 - United Company RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, and ONEXIM Group, the largest shareholder in MMC Norilsk Nickel, the world's leading base metals and PGM producer, are pleased to announce that they have signed an agreement whereby UC RUSAL will acquire from ONEXIM a 25% plus one share interest in MMC Norilsk Nickel, and ONEXIM will become an 11% shareholder of the enlarged UC RUSAL with the balance of the consideration to be paid in cash. ONEXIM will also gain a representation on the UC RUSAL Board of Directors.

UC RUSAL completes a part of ecological modernization project at Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter. Automatic alumina point-feeders installed
Moscow, 23 November 2007 - UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, is pleased to announce that Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter (KrAZ) has completed the installation of automatic alumina point-feeders.  KrAZ is the first and the only aluminium smelter in Russia based on the slotted anode technology equipped with automatic point-feeders. The investments in this project amounted over USD 38 millions.

UC RUSAL becomes first Russian company to complete monitoring and analysis of greenhouse gas emissions
Moscow, 15 November  2007  -  UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, is pleased to report the completion of an ecological monitoring at the Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter (KrAZ). The research was conducted by Jerry Marks, a respected climate change researcher who is also a specialist consultant for the International Aluminium Institute. UC RUSAL is the first company in Russia to undertake monitoring and analysis of perfluorochemicals emissions (part of greenhouse gas emissions).

UC RUSAL completes large scale casthouse modernization programme at aluminium smelters
Moscow, 7 November 2007 – UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, is pleased to report the completion of a large scale casthouse modernization programme at four of its aluminium smelters: Sayanogorsk, Krasnoyarsk, Bratsk and Novokuznetsk.  The investment in the project amounted to approximately USD 130 million. The value-added casthouse production has increased almost tenfold and today accounts for more than 50% of all aluminium production.
