RUSAL announces completion of extensive modernisation programme at Krasnoyarsk smelter
Krasnoyarsk, 10 September 2009 - RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, announces the completion of its five-year environmental modernisation programme of the Krasnoyarsk aluminium smelter (KrAZ). The сompany invested over USD 300 mln in the programme.

Moscow, 26 August 2009 - In relation to RusHydro’s acting head Vasily Zubakin saying that after the accident RusHydro will find reasons to avoid fulfilling obligations under its contracts, RUSAL, as the largest consumer of energy generated by the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydro Power Plant, states the following:

RUSAL CEO takes part in emergency meeting of the RF ministry of energy on the situation at Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP
Moscow, 17 August 2009 – Oleg Deripaska, CEO of RUSAL, has taken part in a meeting held by the Minister of Energy Sergey Shmatko. The meeting was also attended by the Minister for Emergency Situation Sergey Shoygu and Chairman of the Board of Directors of RusHydro Vyacheslav Sinyugin.

RUSAL CEO visits Guinea
Moscow, 6 August 2009 – UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, is pleased to announce that Oleg Deripaska, RUSAL’s CEO, visited Guinea during his tour of the company’s production facilities. As part of the Guinea visit the head of RUSAL had a series of meetings with the management of the company’s operations in Guinea and representatives of local communities.

RUSAL and Coordinating Committee agree terms of long-term restructuring
Moscow, 30 July 2009 - UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, today announces that it has agreed the principal terms of a long-term debt restructuring with the Coordinating Committee which represents more than 70 international lenders. According to the agreement, RUSAL will settle its debt to international banks within seven years. The agreement puts RUSAL on a strong and stable financial footing and ensures that the business is capable of weathering the current economic environment.

ARMENAL’s H1 levels better than its nominal design capacity
Moscow, 8 July 2009 - UC RUSAL, the world’s largest aluminium and alumina producer, announced a marked increase in output from its ARMENAL foil mill, Armenia. In June, the foil mill produced nearly 2,500 tonnes of foil, a 12% improvement on its nominal design capacity, taking ARMENAL’s half-year production to over 10,000 tonnes.
